 Hi Everyone!

My name is Shelby Weber.  I was born and raised in North Pole, Alaska.  I have competed in CrossFit and Olympic Weightlifting since 2016.  I love sports medicine and athletics.  I'm currently working toward my B.S. in Biological Sciences/Biochemistry and Neuroscience through the University of Alaska Fairbanks.  I hope to eventually pursue a career as a P.A. specializing in sports medicine.  I moved to Roseville, California in the summer of 2022.  I decided to move as a few of my friends were moving to the area.  I've recently joined a boxing gym in the area and have been learning to do that while still doing CrossFit.  I currently work full-time and am a full-time student at UAF.

Music has always been a big part of my life.  My mom has been a piano teacher my entire life.  She ran her own private studio out of our home.  I have been playing the piano for fifteen years and the violin for thirteen years.  I also have played a little bit of guitar and cello.  I competed in piano competitions from 2012 to 2018.  I've played in multiple piano and violin concerts throughout that time.  I also played violin and piano for the city of North Pole annually with my mom.  I taught violin lessons from 2016 to 2020.  I stopped teaching in 2020 as I was switching jobs and starting at UAF.   I recently began teaching piano and violin lessons again here at a music studio here in Roseville, California.  I've loved having the opportunity to share my love of music with kids.

I love nearly all types of music.  I love classical music as that is what I primarily played on the violin and piano.  Hymns and worship music holds a special place in my heart as I feel as I am able to express how I feel more when playing that type of music.  For listening to at the gym or just my morning drive, I listen to a variety of different musical genres.  I especially enjoy rap and country music.  The only genres of music I don't particularly prefer is R&B and a lot of the 80's music.  I attached a video to a classical piece that I've played in the past that I really enjoy.

  1. Aww! You and your mom performing together! Ravel sure created a curious title for this somber piano piece. A slow, elegant, antiquated dance (usually performed at court) for a dead child. Hmmm. I wonder what's behind this beautiful piece.

  2. That is awesome that you can play a variety of different instruments, from the piano, violin, cello, and even guitar! I can only play guitar, but I have been really interested in learning the piano recently.
